Taking the time to enjoy secret indulgences!

Today, I’m indulging in one of my secret indulgences.

Spending a Sunday morning at the local car wash.

Enjoying 30-45 minutes of uninterrupted time in conditioned comfort with a free cup of tea or hot-chocolate, reading or thinking, while someone else washes my car.

It is not that I can’t wash my car.

Dad definitely made me wash his many, many  times when I was a teenager.

But after having my car professional washed once, I have since realised that whilst I have many skills and talents, cleaning cars isn’t on the top of my ‘expertise’ list.

As a somewhat anal-retentive over-achiever, I could easily spend all day working on the car, yet probably fail miserably to obtain the exact perfection that I desire. Without even thinking of the time it would take:

  • I would find a tooth-brush to clean all the air vents, and scrub all the drink holders in the car doors.
  • Then I would want to ‘Armor All’ protect and shine the dashboard and all inside surfaces.
  • Followed by removing and buffing every single scratch and mark inside and out.

By going to the local car wash I achieve many things.

  1. I get the car cleaned to the standard and price point that I am ‘happy’ with;
  2. It takes much less time and physical exertion than if I did it myself and produces a better result,
  3. And, I get some much-needed downtime to spend exactly how I want.

Talk about a stress free day and how to knock a to-do item off your list! 🙂

Do you have any secret indulges that help improve your life, and perhaps knock items off your to-do list?

What could you do to add more easy and grace into your life?

Yours in Love and Light.
